1. Who we are and what these terms cover

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Legal Pact, Inc. (“Legal Pact”, “we”, “us”). They govern your use of the website legal-pact.com, our document builder and every related service we provide (together, the “Service”).

By using the Service — browsing templates, filling out a questionnaire, creating an account or downloading a document — you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that company, and “you” includes it.

2. Legal Pact is not a law firm

Our templates are drafted and reviewed by licensed attorneys and are designed to meet common legal requirements, but no template fits every situation. The information we provide is general information, not advice about your specific circumstances, and we cannot recommend which template you should use.

Your documents are assembled mechanically from the answers you give. No attorney reviews your individual answers or the resulting document, and you are responsible for their accuracy and for any signing formalities that apply (witnesses, notarisation, registration).

If your situation is complex, high-value or contested — or if you are simply unsure — have the finished document reviewed by a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction before relying on it.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts to use the Service.

Sign-in is passwordless: we email you a one-time link, or you can continue with Google. Your email address is the key to your account, so keep access to your inbox secure — anyone who can read your email can open your account. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

Provide a real, working email address. We use it to deliver sign-in links, receipts and your documents; if we cannot reach you, parts of the Service will not work.

4. What the Service does

Legal Pact turns attorney-reviewed templates into finished documents. You answer a guided, plain-English questionnaire, watch the document assemble in a live preview, and export the result as a PDF and an editable Word file.

• You can browse the catalog and preview any document in full, for free, before deciding to download it.
• Finished documents are saved to your account under “My documents”, and you can re-download them at any time.
• We continuously update templates as laws change, but updates apply to new documents — a document you already generated is a snapshot of the template at the time you created it.

We may add, change or retire templates and features at any time. If we retire something you have paid for, your existing documents remain downloadable from your account.

5. Pricing and payment

Legal Pact is strictly pay-per-document. Each paid template shows its one-time price up front, before you start. There are no subscriptions, memberships, trials that convert, auto-renewals or hidden fees.

• You are charged only when you choose to download a paid document — previewing is free.
• Displayed prices include VAT or similar taxes where they apply.
• Some documents are free: confirming your email address to save and download them is the only requirement.

Payments are handled by third-party payment processors (card payments and express options such as Apple Pay or PayPal). Your card details go directly to the processor and are never stored on our servers. A receipt is emailed to you after each purchase.

6. Downloads and the editing window

When you pay for a document (or save a free one), it becomes available immediately as a PDF and an editable Word file, and a copy is stored in your account.

• Paid documents stay editable in the online editor for 24 hours after purchase. After that they become download-only — you can still re-download your saved copy at any time, and the Word file remains freely editable on your own device.
• Free documents saved to your account stay editable in the online editor indefinitely.

If you spot a mistake after the editing window has closed, contact us — we will do what we reasonably can to help.

7. Refunds

Every paid document comes with a 14-day, no-questions-asked refund. The full details — including the statutory withdrawal rights of EU consumers — are in our Refund policy, which is part of these Terms.

8. Your answers and your documents

The information you enter into a questionnaire, and the documents generated from it, are yours. We claim no ownership of them.

You grant us a limited licence to store and process your answers solely to provide the Service: generating your documents, showing the live preview, exporting files and keeping your saved copies available. We do not sell your answers or use them for advertising. See the Privacy policy for details.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. If you include personal data about other people (for example, the other party to a lease), you confirm you are entitled to use it for creating your document.

9. Your licence to use our templates

When you download a document — paid or free — we grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use, print, copy and share that finished document for your own personal or business purposes, including having it signed by the parties involved.

What the licence does not allow: reselling or redistributing our templates or questionnaires themselves, offering them (or documents generated from them) as a competing product or template library, or systematically extracting template content from the Service.

10. Our intellectual property

The Service — including templates, questionnaires, guidance text, software, design and the Legal Pact brand — is owned by Legal Pact or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the licence in the previous section, no rights are granted to you.

11. Acceptable use

Use the Service only for lawful purposes. In particular, you agree not to:

• use the Service to create documents for an unlawful purpose, or documents intended to deceive;
• scrape, crawl or bulk-download templates, or access the Service by automated means other than public search-engine indexing;
• interfere with the operation or security of the Service, probe or test vulnerabilities without our written permission, or circumvent access controls or payment;
• impersonate another person, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
• resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service except as these Terms allow.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

12. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep templates accurate and current, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

• We do not warrant that any template is suitable for your specific situation or enforceable in every jurisdiction.
• Laws differ between countries and states and change over time; signing formalities (witnesses, notarisation, registration) may apply to your document.
• We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. If you use the Service as a consumer, nothing in these Terms limits rights that your local consumer law makes non-waivable.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Legal Pact will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenues or data, arising from your use of the Service — including the legal consequences of using a generated document, such as disputes, unenforceable clauses, missed deadlines or attorney fees.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50.

If your use or misuse of the Service in breach of these Terms causes a third-party claim against Legal Pact, you agree to compensate us for the reasonable losses that claim causes us, except to the extent we are at fault.

This limitation does not apply where the law does not allow it — including liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.

14. Ending the relationship

You can stop using the Service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and data whenever you like (see the Privacy policy).

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, abuse the Service or where the law requires it. If we terminate without such a cause, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to download your saved documents.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (licences to your downloaded documents, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) survive.

15. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If a change is material, we will give notice — for example by email or a notice in the Service — before it takes effect. The “Effective date” above always shows when the current version started to apply.

Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service; changes never apply retroactively to documents you already purchased.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you use the Service as a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, you additionally benefit from those protections and may bring proceedings in the courts of your home country.

Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us at support@legal-pact.com — almost every issue can be resolved directly, and usually within a business day.

17. Miscellaneous

• Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy policy and the Refund policy are the whole agreement between you and Legal Pact about the Service.
• Severability. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
• Assignment. You may not transfer this agreement; we may transfer it as part of a merger or sale of the Service, and your rights under it carry over.
• No waiver. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
